diaper bag n flower girl dress

ive finished a few project but i forgot to post some of them here,
so here are my latest finished and ongoing project

    project 8
diaper bag

It took me  almost 3 weeks to finish this one! its not that hard but the thickness sickened me everytime LOL
i used designer fabric for the outer, and left ikea fabric (from maisarahs dress) for the inner. i also used fusible lightweight interfacing and fiber batting to make it sturdier, overall, i love the result! been using it in most of our outing already. best!
    Project 9
learn to walk belt
i always inspired by Ashley from makeitnloveit , ive been planning to this n that but hardly have the time!  but luckyly this project doesnt require much time n was very2 easy to make, so i decided to give it a try. its a body belt to help ayra to learn to walk. like ashley ,we both are tall people, so its quite tiring to bend over holding her hand while her making some steps. so by using this i no longer have to bongkok2 n suffer back pain during tatih session n its really fun to use!
sorry , i forgot to take pic with ayra wearin it, so guna coco-chan to pose for the photo coz lil princess needs her beauty sleep . :D

    project 10
ayras flower girl dress
i decided to sew a flower girl dress for ayra to wear @ anis wedding this weekend, i started cutting the fabric around 10ish last night n by 2am , the dress is already looking like this

i can tell myself improving quite a lot already coz i no longer do the jahit-bukakbalik-jahit thing and hardly use the seam ripper . bangga ok hehe the skirt was cut n measured free-hand and i also made the pleat free-hand to0, which explains the uneven gap of every pleat. pemalas betul , baju anak takpelah, kot baju customer kena measure suma siap2 baru cantik. hehe
btw the dress is not done yet, still need to finish the sleevem waist ribbon and the skirt hem. overall – really2 love the color! bought the sateen n baju melayu fabric from kamdar @ rm5/ mtr. cheap huh?

maisarahs itti bitti

finally after one sleepless night and a few extra hours, i have completely sewn the dress! i used the itti bitti dress pattern for the body, and create the skirt myself i didnt wanted for the skirt to be so ‘kembang’ so i did 2 ruffles instead of 3, and the 2nd layer of the skirt part is sewn together with the 3rd layer along the top edge.

im topstitch maniac , so i topstitched all along the body edge and also the hems to create a crispier finishing.

im all impressed by myself with the result. n hubs too “sugoi ne mommy, sugoii ne” all over. cant wait to make more dresses n garments in the future!

i dug a bunch of my old clothes from Japan which i dont wear anymore n found some t-shirts from uniqlo which i really really love for the comfy knit fabric.

i took one border shirt that was quite old (bought on my 1st year) there were holes here n there, i dont think ill be wearing it again. so i decided to use the body parts to make ayra a pair of room pants.

this is the easiest project ive ever made, i took barely 10 minutes to finish it. you can find the tutorial all over the internet. but unfortunately i cut the waist part a bit short , they became a low-rise pants LOL. maybe ill alter them later.

highchair slip cover

sewing iss soooo addictive!

we went to ikea whole day yesterday to buy a highchair for Ayra n apparently ikea doesnt provide free plastic bags anymore (u have to buy @RM0.10 /RM0.20 kalau tak silap.) thank god we brought my flip and tumble and n old reusable shopping bag along.

we ended up buying 2 of the highchair (another one to be put @ tok ummis home in p*jaya -kantoi selalu pi dinner kehkeh)

i found that the highchair is soo boring so i decided to make a slip cover for it using some deco fabrics (also bought from ikea) and the leftover pink fleece. hubs had to spend the afternoon in the office marking papers, and since ayra was sleeping soundly, i had the time all for myself so i cut the fabrics n started to sew immediately. the cover is really easy to make, just cut the fabric according to the shape of the chair, sew around the edge both cotton n fleece right side together, leaving an opening and flip it over. itll look better if i topstitch around the edge but i was too lazy n i wonder if the old singer can handle the thickness, so i only topstitched the opening part. hoho

the unisex cover -bak kata kak ira (well planned aa? ekeke)

she now loves watching tv in the new highchair (n cover! :P )

owh and i also sewn in two small handmade straps to the seat part to tie it to the chair.

little red dress

22102009

i bought this cheap cotton fabric from kamdar wayy back when i was pregnant with you

i wanted to make the dress with a much much prettier patterned cotton, but too afraid if i waste the expensive fabric so i settled with this.but it turned out i did fine. !:D

i cut the the fabric according to a pattern i got from a japanese sewing book couple months back with u next to me trying to eat the pieces. owh btw i hate tracing. it kills me.

just finished the dress tonight, will send the dress to make buttonhol on the backside tomorrow.

ill add some embellishments (applique or embroidery or ur name maybe) when i have the time.

btw pls ignore the unmatching white thread, i only have one bobbin, n was too lazy to change to red one. (hoho mmg tak leh buat jual ini macam)

soft sole shoes

sorry for the bad color combination . but theyre purposely made to match her baju raya so that explain the same top fabric.

i should have lined the single fleece sole with other fabric to make it sturdier tho. takpe , next attemptla pulak.
